Hurst Lodge promotes courtesy, kindness and consideration. We provide a holistic approach to education and place learning, creativity and the building of self-worth at the centre of the school’s life. Throughout the school we offer a full academic curriculum enhanced by an aesthetic and creative programme of study. At GCSE and A Level our option choices are diverse offering a strong core subject base with traditional or vocational options. Our pupils are supported by a dedicated team of staff who are committed to achieving the very best for their students.

Our secure and purposeful environment encourages pupils to develop mentally and physically as far as they are able. We aim to educate our children to become responsible citizens, respect their surroundings and to tread lightly on the Earth. We aim for our children to become successful learners, and gain pleasure from their environment whilst contributing to the school and wider community as well as achieving personal goals.

Learning and discovery are the cornerstones of our philosophy. I believe that all successes should be celebrated equally as this enables children to grow in confidence and self-esteem. Every pupil should be given the opportunity to succeed and our school delights in celebrating a wide range of different achievements. Great importance is attached to personal development through creativity, enhanced self-discipline, good manners and respect for others. We encourage children to learn through self-expression and participation in order to make the greatest use of their abilities and to channel their creativity to achieve success socially, vocationally and academically.
