Drama
Our award winning drama department is centred on a bespoke "conservatoire" style of drama training. The goal is to create confident and talented performers who are able to devise from stimulus or realise scripted plays as required. We put creativity and vocational excellence at the heart of everything we do and all students work with theatre professionals at every stage of their personal learning journey.
We have two major performance platforms, the Independent Schools Association Drama competition and our Summer show. We offer LAMDA exams and personal coaching for auditions. If students choose to study at GCSE, BTEC or A-Level they benefit from small classes, greater personal attention and more timetabled periods.
We are proud of our excellent national reputation and creative arts cross overs which result in frequent, huge, whole school projects.
Hawleyhurst believes that involvement in regular drama is an integral part of every child’s development. We work with the youngest students, building confidence and team work skills right up to Sixth form students who become ambassadors for the department.
